Dr. Subas Ghimire, who has been continuously contributing to the health and social sectors, has been honored with the Zenith Book of World Records. According to the organization that awarded the honor, Dr. Ghimire has been playing a significant role by operating free health and dental camps, increasing health awareness and providing emergency medical assistance targeting underserved communities in rural and urban areas. It is said that thousands of citizens have been directly benefited from his work.
Dr. Under the leadership of Dr. Ghimire, the Lions Club of Kathmandu Indra Annapurna Yoga has been organizing free health and dental camps regularly in various remote districts of the country including the Kathmandu Valley. In these camps, general health check-ups, dental treatment, medicine distribution, blood pressure and diabetes screening, and counseling services are provided. The economically weak, deprived, and those who are far from access to health services are the main beneficiaries of such camps.
Along with health camps, Dr. Ghimire has also been active in blood donation programs, sanitation and hygiene campaigns, dental health education, public awareness regarding disease prevention, and emergency medical assistance. Putting into practice the concept of “prevention is better than cure,” he has prioritized the message of taking precautions before the onset of disease.
As the treasurer of Lions Club International District-325F, Dr. Ghimire has been playing a role in the organization’s financial transparency, discipline, and effective resource management, according to the Lions Circle. His efforts to focus limited resources on service-oriented programs have been institutionally effective.
Dr. Ghimire is known not only as a health worker but also as an active social worker. His work style is characterized by his personal presence in health camps, direct communication with patients, and mobilization of a team of doctors and volunteers. This is why he has been established as a figure who has gained trust and respect from different sections of society.
